In this step-by-step tutorial, you'll learn how to create a swipe motion animation using Canva. Whether you're showcasing different flavors of a drink or highlighting various dishes at a restaurant, swipe motion animations are a fantastic way to captivate your audience. Let's create an eye-catching animation that will undoubtedly elevate your design game.
Imagine effortlessly cycling through captivating visuals, smoothly transitioning from one element to another. Swipe motion animations are not only visually appealing but also highly engaging. Let's start...
Step 1: Adding Elements for Animation:
To begin, open up Canva and create a new project. Start by adding the elements you want to cycle through. For instance, showcasing different fruits. In this example we'll be using an apple, an orange, a strawberry, and a banana, insert these onto your canvas.
Step 2: Arranging Elements for Animation:
Position the elements either side by side or underneath each other, depending on the direction you want the swipe motion to flow. In this example, let's place the fruits next to each other.
Step 3: Evenly Spacing Elements:
Click on the "Position" option and choose "Space evenly Horizontally." This ensures that the elements are evenly distributed. To make the animation work, make sure to group the elements.
Step 4: Adding Text Overlay:
Enhance your animation by adding text labels. Press the "T" key to insert a text box. If you want the text to swipe up, arrange them vertically underneath each element. Use the "Position" settings again, but this time choose "Space evenly Vertically." Remember to group the text elements.
Step 5: Scaling and Positioning:
Scale up the text and position it so that only one name is visible on the canvas. Start with the Apple. Click on the ruler and drag it to the center of the page to create some guides.
Step 6: Page Duplication and Alignment:
At the bottom right-click the page and duplicate it. Move the first element off the canvas until the next element appears. Align it using guides to maintain consistency. Replicate this process for both the elements and the text.
Step 7: Creating Page Transitions:
Click in the middle of the two pages and select "Match & Move" as the page transition effect. Adjust the transition duration to your preference. For a more gradual effect, consider setting it to around 1 second.
Step 8: Duplication for Additional Elements:
Duplicate the second page and move the element to the next one in the sequence. Repeat this step for all the elements and their corresponding text labels.
Step 9: Adjusting Page Duration:
Change the page duration to 1.5 seconds to allow viewers to fully appreciate the animation. Toggle the option to apply this duration to all pages.
