Are you tired of boring cuts in your videos? Do you want to wow your viewers with something more exciting? Well, you’re in luck! Today, we're diving into a powerful Canva transition trick that will elevate your video editing game. Let's get started!
### Step 1: Set Up Your Canvas
First things first, open Canva and create a new blank video file. Once you have your blank canvas, add your footage. For this tutorial, I’m using a beach scene. Go to the “Elements” tab and search for “Beach” in the video section. I’ve picked a clip featuring palm trees swaying in the breeze.
Resize your beach footage to fit the page. Trim the clip by clicking the end of it and dragging it to about 4.5 seconds on the timeline.
### Step 2: Add and Trim Your Second Clip
Click on the plus icon to add a new page. This will be your transition target. Just like with the first clip, add your footage, resize it to fit the page, and trim it to about 4.5 seconds—or any length you prefer.
### Step 3: Split Your Clips
Now, it’s time to set up the transition. Move the playhead to about 3 seconds in the timeline, leaving 1.5 seconds for the transition. Press ‘S’ on your keyboard to split the clip. Do the same for the second clip, splitting it at 1.5 seconds in.
### Step 4: Copy and Paste
We need to copy the split clip. Right-click on it and select “Copy,” or simply press Ctrl+C on your keyboard. Go to the second page and paste it by pressing Ctrl+V. Align the copied clip with the bottom clip. You can now delete the third page by right-clicking it and choosing “Delete Page.”
### Step 5: Add the Fade Animation
Select the top clip on the second page. Go to the “Animate” tab and choose the “Fade” animation. Make sure to set the animation to “On enter.” To make the transition smooth, decrease the speed by dragging the slider all the way to the left.
Click the three dots and select “Show timing.” Adjust the animation timing by dragging the start of the purple bar to about the halfway point in the timeline. This will make your clip fade out at the middle point, creating a seamless transition.
### Step 6: Add Scribble Elements
Now, let's add some flair! Go to “Elements” and search for “Scribble.” In the photo section, place several scribble elements—or any element of your choice—on the page. The key is to fill up most of the page to cover the video.
### Step 7: Animate the Elements
Here’s where the magic happens. Go to the “Position” tab, select the first element, hold down Shift, and select the last element. Go to “Animate” and scroll down to choose “Tumble.” Decrease the intensity by dragging the slider all the way to the left. Alternatively, you can use the “Scrapbook” animation.
### Voilà!
Now, you should have a smooth, creative transition that looks like this:
